|Name of walk||A Walk Around Buttermere|
|Date of walk||2007-02-04|
Another nice day so we went to Buttermere for a walk around the lake. When we left Walney it was shrouded in fog. Windermere and Thirlmere were also very foggy. Thankfully the Buttermere Valley was in perfect visibility!
We parked just above St. James church.
There is a memorial to Wainwright.
The view out to Haystacks.
The church is tiny.
We stopped for a coffee in the Bridge Inn before we set off round the Lake. Classic view of Buttermere. Wonderful reflections today.
Mellbreak off left.
View to Fleetwith Pike.
It would be nice to live there!
Haystacks off right.
From path to Gatesgarth looking down the lake.
High Crag and High Stile, climbed in the summer
Stopping for lunch we had a feline visitor.
Puss was quite partial to egg mayonnaise sandwiches, but preferred Tom`s pepperoni!
View back down lake.
Famous tree line.
Looking back up to Mellbreak.
walking back to the village.
