|Name of walk||Buttermere Round and a bit of Crummock Water|
|Date of walk||2012-07-23|
Buttermere looking empty....a rare summer weekend sight!
View down the lake towards Fleetwith Pike.
From the start of the lakeside path.
Ness and me on the shore.
A nice house to live in!
Getting nearer to Fleetwith Pike.
Panoramic view of Fleetwith Pike and Haystacks from the bridge.
As we rounded the end of the lake we spoke of the time in February 2007 when we had shared our sandwiches with a black and white cat. Just after we mentioned the cat, it appeared! Just as friendly as before, but this time we didn't stop for lunch here, I think it was disappointed!
We stopped here for a sit-down and a scone with homemade strawberry jam.
Looking over to High Stile.
The path goes through a tunnel.
Looking over to Buttermere Village as we head for the farm that makes their own ice cream.
After our ice cream we parked in the car park at Crummock Water to walk a short circuit along the north end and around to the Kirkstile Inn for lunch. The route was less than 2 miles.
Looking over the lakeshore path to Mellbreak.
View to Grasmoor and the boat house.
The beach at the north end.
We head over the field to the track that leads to the Inn.
We had lunch outside.
