|Name of walk||Skiddaw in Sunshine|
|Date of walk||2007-05-01|
On Tuesday I took Brendan up Skiddaw (3053ft) and Skiddaw Little Man (2837ft). Another nice day but very windy even at the car park. We took the tourist route up. A large, smooth path that goes all the way up. I left my walking pole on the car bonnet by mistake, not that I actually needed it, but once I realised I`d forgotten it it was too late to go back. Not to worry, it might still be there when we return!
The path up Jenkin Hill.
Derwent Water and clear hills. It became hazy as the day wore on.
Looking over Latrigg and the town of Keswick.
The back of Blencathra, Lonscale Fell on right.
Looking back at the route to Skiddaw Little man.
Ullock Pike and Longside Edge with Bassenthwaite Lake behind.
Looking back to the middle and south summit. Skiddaw Little Man off to left.
Main summit. The wind was force 8/9, very difficult to walk in and to try and take photos.
Looking north from the north summit. Overwater and the Cockups in the middle.
The Calvas and Mungrisdale Common.
Carl Side and Long Side, Dodd peeking out on left.
Summit of Skiddaw Little man looking down to Skiddaw Lesser man.
Clough Head, The Dodds and the Helvellyn range.
Back at the car park and my walking stick is still on the bonnet. Restores your faith in human nature!
We ambled up and down, it took us under four hours.
