Name of walk | Top o' Selside 2010 |
Date of walk | 2010-10-16 |
On Saturday afternoon Brendan and I headed for High Nibthwaite parking in the lay-by outside Water Park.

One of Anthony Gormley's sculptures on the shores of Coniston Water at High Nibthwaite.

From the red telephone box you head through the gate and take a sharp right up towards Brock Barrow. Looking back down the grassy path through the bracken.

Brock Barrow summit cairn.

Looking down on Coniston Water.

View across to Brown Pike, Buck Pike, Dow Crag, Coniston Old Man, Swirl How and Wetherlam.

Note that I'm the one who carries the ruck-sack!!!

View from Low Light Haw summit. We headed for High Light Haw.

We head for Arnsbarrow Hill summit on the far right via High Light Haw centre, Top o' Selside on the left in the distance.

We zig zagged across pathless and wet Stang Moss to Arnsbarrow Hill and then back again picking up the lower path to Top o' Selside ahead on the right.

Being watched as we headed for Top o' Selside summit.

View towards the Helvellyn range from Top o' Selside (1091ft).

Looking over Coniston Water out to sea.

Wind turbines out to sea very visible on the horizon.
