Today we drove to Roudsea Wood car park (permit required). I usually walk from Greenodd, but today we decided to shorten the walk and just do the circuit which takes just over an hour.
Reed beds.
We just follow the trail. There are numbered markers which refer you to the text in the Roudsea Wood leaflet that you can get online.
The Otter Dike.
The remains of Tan Bark Barn.
The track back takes us past the Powder House, which was used for storing gunpowder. This building is private, and not part of the reserve.
We take the path down to the Leven Estuary.
Roudsea Tarn.
Ancient yews and roots.
Always a good little walk.
