Two local walks on separate days. The first to the top of Birkrigg from near the Old Mill on the Coast Road, the second from Rampside to Roa Island. Both take about an hour.
The public footpath up to Birkrigg is in the wall.
The Mill Pond.
We head up the lane.
Out through the gate and there are views down to Bardsea.
Stone Circle.
Lots of sheep grazing.
Great views across Morecambe Bay on the walk up to the summit.
Trig point.
View down to Ulverston. Dow Crag, Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam on the left. The Hoad Monument on the right.
The Gale Monument.
