Decided to go up from Wasdale Head to Illgill Head, on the side of Wast Water, and known as the Wast Water Screes (2000ft). A circular walk along the tops of the screes to Whin Rigg, down to Nether Wasdale and back along the Lake to where we started. Ten miles plus! Very hot today 29C so the forecast said. Very good for aerobic fitness! Took two bottles of water and still needed to refill with stream water.

Now only need to walk back to the other end just past Yewbarrow on the left! Feet starting to ache a bit now!

Walk took 6 hours 20 mins. Went back home via Birker Fell. Thunder, lightening and torrential rain!
