Saturday was due to be warm and sunny so we headed for Little Town to climb Robinson (2417ft), Hindscarf (2385ft), Dale Head (2473ft), High Spy (2143ft), Maiden Moor (1887ft) and Catbells (1481ft). A walk of over 10 miles.

01

We got to Little Town by eight thirty and set off for the church. Passing lots of new born lambs on the way.

02

The last time I came this way it was cold, wet, blowing a gale and misty, but today the conditions were perfect! Hindscarf on the left. We are making for Robinson on the right.

03

Newlands church.

04

Going up the steep grassy slope that leads to the ridge.

05

Close up of the dam.

06

After walking along the ridge for a bit you reach the three rock steps. Thankfully the rock was dry today so climbing them was a lot easier than last time.

07

Looking down the ridge after climbing up the three rock steps.

08

Still quite a way to the summit. Good views out all around!

38

Looking down on the track back to Little Town. Just above left is the car parking space and just above that is Newlands church. Robinson is top left, Hindcarf just below that.

There was a waterfall on the way down where we refilled our waterbottles. We had run out on High Spy and it was thirsty work today! Little Town Farm were doing afternoon tea and home made cakes. Somehow we managed to resist!
The walk took us seven hours and fifteen minutes. The views and weather were superb today!
