It actually snowed on Walney Island on Tuesday afternoon so we took a walk down from our house to the beach. All the Barrow schools were shut. Tom and his mates went sledging. Then later we went to the Black Huts to watch the sunset.

A bit nippy!
This afternoon was much brighter so we went for a walk to The Black Huts which are on the far side of the channel from the North End of the island. The road down was extremely icy, luckily I had my Microspikes in my coat pocket. A bullock walking to its feeding station with Black Combe behind.

We take the path off left into the dunes to get a better view of the hills.

We aimed for the beach. The sun was getting lower.
We walked in the opposite direction towards the hills to get the view out from the headland.

We headed back in the direction of The Black Huts, the sun would be setting in a few minutes.
