Name of walk | Warton Crags, Boxing Day 2011 |
Date of walk | 2011-12-26 |
It is that time of the year again!

For the annual Boxing Day family and friends walk we all met up at 11.30am in the quarry car park for Warton Crag, near Carnforth, Lancashire. This year there were 20 of us braving the wind!

A rather impressive stone seat.

Heading up.

Looking back towards Pine Lake

Looking over Warton to the flooded fields.

Looking back down on the car park.

A group photo by the rocks.

Looking out to sea towards Heysham power stations.

The final rock section before we head up to the summit.

The Beacon and the trig point at the summit of Warton Crag.

Looking across the bay towards Grange.

Mince pies, stollen, mulled wine and hot chocolate on the summit which is sheltered from the wind by the trees.

Ellie the dog wants some too!

Plus Christmas Pudding Vodka that Tom had made from a Hairy Biker recipe.

Heading back down through the woods.

Just following the main track.

Looking back at our route up from the car park.

The walk was very easy and had only taken just over two hours.

We all head back to Colleen and John`s for tea. Alice, (Brendan`s Mum), Paul and Brendan comparing smart phones.....boys and their toys!

John on the right looking more like Captain Birdseye!

Tim, Brendan`s brother.

Tom on the left, David on the right is one of Tim`s carers from L`Arche in Preston.

Colleen making a toast.

Alice having polished off the rest of the Christmas Pudding vodka!
An excellent day!
