Yesterday I left home at 6am and drove to Kentmere to do the horseshoe which consists of the 9 summits of Yoke (2316ft), Ill Bell (2484ft), Froswick (2359ft), Thornthwaite Crag (2569ft), High Street (2718ft), Mardale Ill Bell (2496ft), Harter Fell (2552ft), Kentmere Pike (2397ft) and Shipman Knotts (1926ft). A walk of just under 14 miles.
I arrived at Kentmere for 7am and made my way up the Garburn Pass passing Kentmere Hall.

The Trig Point is on the opposite side of the wall but easily accessed with the steps.

It is a bit of a trudge off Shipman Knotts and quite steep and awkward in places. I was glad to be back on the bridle path. View from Stile End back to the first part of the Horseshoe.
