Today Janet, Poppy and I decided to do the Greenburn round. Nine miles and seven summits. We went from Low Tilberthwaite (hoping to miss the Easter Holiday crowds) up to Birk Fell (1750ft), Wetherlam (2502ft), Black Sails (2443ft),Swirl How (2630ft), Great Carrs (2575ft), Little Carrs (2300ft), Hell Gill Pike (2100ft), Wetside Edge, Rough Crags (1400ft). Then down to Greenburn beck along to Little Langdale Tarn and back over to High Tilberthwaite and then Low Tilberthwaite.

Looking back down Wetherlam Edge just before we got to the climbing bit where it got steep and you had to guess the way and scramble up rocks. Luckily Poppy had a nose for the right way! People below us on the path.

Coniston Water. We had lunch on the far side of Wetherlam`s summit. Even Poppy had her own marmite sandwich! Quite a few people about and it was cold and windy so we didn`t stop for long.

The walk took about six and a half hours. Not a bad time! The guide book said eight!
Janet and I will both be at the gym tomorrow. Lucky Poppy will get a rest!
