There were quite a few walks you could do from the hotel.

The grounds of Portmeirion are extensive. A circular walk of over 3 miles is easily done to include both the beach and the woodlands. The Lighthouse.

A fascinating array of rock flora.

Lighthouse reflections.

Bunnies!

So cute!

Money tree....

The ponds look good at this time of year as you get the Rhododendron colours reflected.

Looking towards the Chinese Bridge. New this year is a Tourist Train route through the woods with stations.

View of the village from the Gazebo.

You can get well away from the main tourist routes following the woodland trails which are marked. There are maps at the hotel.

The Dog Cemetery

One of the views from a woodland viewpoint.

......and the other direction.

The rhododendrons were spectacular, but never seem to show up in photos.

One evening we went into Porthmadog for a meal at The Ship. First we walked around the harbour area.

One of the steam trains from the Blaenau Ffestiniog Railway, which comes into Porthmadog.

The bridge across the estuary gives good views out to the mountains.

Snowdon on the far left, still in cloud!

An excellent three days!
