A short morning walk up to Raven Scar on Staveley Fell.

We parked at Chapel House.

Standing next to the small car park at Chapel House, we head through the barrier along the forestry road.

Easy walking.

You get a great view out along Windermere, and over to the Fairfield Horseshoe.

We take the path through the woods.

We head for Raven Scar.

Back on the forestry road we soon head off into the woods to scale the summit.

We retrace our steps and head off to a lower view point.

Better views here, but the tops of the conifers restrict the view west.

No cairn on the summit, its just a rock outcrop.

It is very frosty.

Frost on the bracken.

We head back down through the woods.

Last view of Windermere before we head back to my car.

The walk took two hours and was three miles. A nice, short, easy walk to start the year! Somewhere neither of us had been to before.
