Photos of assorted brass playing, bell ringing, cats, short walks, and the views from the top of Barrow Town Hall, from over the Christmas period.

The South Cumbria Brass Band setting up in the Choir of St. Mary's Church Walney for the Lifeboat Concert. I was playing cornet in a concert with them for the first time, all suited and booted. I'm pointing at Brendan, who is armed with a camera, telling Helen to duck! We ducked successfully for the next hour!

Ian, the conductor, introduced the South Cumbria Brass Band as containing the best brass players in the south of the county. I kept waiting for the addition of ....."and Jo!" But he was too kind to mention it.
Ringing for the BBC Radio Cumbria Carol Service at St. James, which was broadcast on Christmas Day. We even rang for a few minutes during the service. This is not the best photo, but we are all laughing because after setting the self-timer, I stupidly hit a rope on my way back, making it slowly swing. We all knew it would swing into shot at the very moment the camera went off! And it did".
Peaches doing well for sixteen and a half.
Ringing the bells of St. James for the Mail Carol Service. I'm the only one wearing a Christmas hat! Bah Humbug! They must be saving the hats and Christmas jumpers for the Crib Service on Christmas Eve?
A few shots of the ringing.
Andy took this photo while standing on the window sill. Not advisable with me in charge of Elf and Safety!
Iwan concentrating hard.
Who said men can't multi-task? How to catch flies, ring a bell, and call the changes all at the same time...... Magic!
A walk up to Birkrigg on a sunny day.
Looking over to The Hoad.

Bardsea.

I played Christmas Carols with The Holborn Hill Royal Brass Band in Morrisons for two hours on Friday and Saturday. I needed the practice, and they were short of a 2nd cornet. I'm at the back with the dogs for company! I even had to stop playing several times to put some donated dog food into the kennel!

I'd no lip left after two hours!

We raised £600!
We rang the bells of St. James for the Christmas Eve Crib Service.
Festive Christmas Day ringers, with Clarissa taking the photo.
The boys tuck into cake for breakfast!
Peaches and Tigger playing with their 'Chase the Mouse' Christmas pressie.
It has proved to be a big hit!
Tigger wants to play with the wrapping paper!
Peaches under the Christmas tree with her 'lookalike' bauble.
Tigger. Christmas, its just for cats really! There's another one hiding under the tree......."He's behind you!" ...."Oh no he isn't".....
