St. James’ Bellringers’ Meal

Name of walk St. James' Bellringers' Meal
Date of walk 2016-03-05

On Saturday March 5th the St. James’ Church bell ringers marked the second anniversary since the re-dedication of the bells by having a meal at The Crown at North Scale, Walney Island. Great for me as I only live a few minutes walk away! In the morning and afternoon, at Flookburgh then Barrow, were bell ringing training sessions, so many of us had worked up an appetite. The photos below are taken by me and by Barrow Tower Captain, Andy Pollock. His are the better ones! He has an all singing all dancing digital SLR, it probably even has a tea-making setting; whereas mine is a simple point and click. I’m a ‘press one button and just point it in the general vicinity’ type of girl, I lack the patience for technology. Today I also lack the patience for captions, but then if you know these people you don’t need captions, and if you don’t know them, you will probably be bored and would be much happier looking at pretty mountain photos in another post. So that’s an hour of work saved! 🙂

St. James' Church, Barrow. The venue for the afternoon Tower Practice to consolidate what the learners had learned in the morning.Unfortunately I was that busy ringing that I totally forgot to take any photos! I think I only sat down once in the 2hr session.
