Nab Scar and Alcock Tarn

On Monday Ged, Kas, Tom and I went to Rydal, parking at Rydal Mount to climb Nab Scar (1450ft) and walk to Alcock Tarn and back to Rydal via the Old Coffin Route, about 4 miles.

It was very hot today and the route up Nab Scar was very steep. Looking over to Grasmere.

View down to Rydal Water and Loughrigg Fell. Rydal Cave can just be made out sticking out above the tree line.

We took the Old Coffin route to Rydal ending up back at Rydal Mount (Wordsworth's House).

Then off to The Badger and Bar pub at the bottom of the hill for a well earned drink.

A very hot day! Good job I chose an easy walk!
